Welcome to District 5 where we convert the energy of the earth and the sky to power our great nation. In a modern world, electricity is the blood of civilization, and here in District 5, we keep that blood flowing throughout every District in Panem. Our scientists, partnered with District 3, have worked to increase the energy output of District to satisfy the needs of a growing nation, while ensuring not one single district experiences an unnecessary power outage. Our electricity powers everything in our lives from our cars, trains, and hovercraft, to our computers, live-saving medical equipment, televisions, holovisions, telephones, and all our little electrical gadgets that Panemese are so fond of.
In District 5, we are also working to make energy for efficient, including doubling the production of energy while decreasing the effort put into creating it. We have multiple solar stations that cover miles of the Western Desert and generate billions of kilowatts from the sun’s energy rays. We also have nuclear power plants that use nuclear energy to produce power in safe heavily guarded installations that have been located deep in the desert with multiple safeguards in case if any accident happens.
We also have a large hydroelectric dam located just to the south of the Capitol in the Rocky Mountains that generates enough power to run the entire Capitol, District 2, and District 1 at the same time. Our newest initiative has been to do away with the need for coal powered energy in the rest of the Districts as we have maximized our current energy sources as well as created new wind-power stations that generate billions of kilowatts from our usually harsh desert winds. Our engineers have expanded across Panem, improving its power infrastructure and creating a strong electrical grid to keep us all connected as a nation.
